Teaching Council Registration Query

I'm trying to get registered with the teaching council, I have a lvl 8 degree from DIT, I've been working as a maths teacher in the UK, I'm fully registered, fully recognised over there. But they keep coming back asking for my info about my degree. At this stage I'm thinking about going to a solicitor. I'm just so fed up with them. Anyone ever done this?
Also how do we go about removing them?

    First off..

    1. Is your level 8 degree a degree in maths?
    2. If not , did it have any maths modules on it?
    3. Do you have a teaching diploma (apart from the general degree!).
    4. They keep coming back to you for info on your degree... have you provided all the required info?

As regards going to a solicitor ... they'll always tell you that you've a great case.. don;t forget though the teaching council is backed by an endless pot of money.

I think you have to have 60 credits in a subject to qualify to teach that subject. Check your degree. Do you have 60 credits in maths?

Yes they are slow and ponderous. Their job is to act as gatekeepers to the profession. When i went to England i went straight onto the system by virtue of being a qualified teacher in Ireland. Experienced teacher coming here suffer and god help them if they dont have a large part of their degree in a named LC subject. Don't think we ll ever get rid of them. Some people really approve.

Gatekeepers ?!More like 'slush fund and their own job' keepers.Extorted money from teachers WITH MENACES and lies for five or so years before they actually got anywhere near keeping 'unqualified teachers'(!?) out of schools Not a word from them when our profession is being cut to ribbons by the media and cutbacks but plenty of money to roll out Matt Cooper and Ryan Turbridy on the same day .
Give the bloody money to the unemployed NQTs for Gods sake !Useless ...Its possible this lot stir up as much ire in me as Govt and unions and thats saying something !They will inevitably be responsible for the firing of the legions of these underperforming teachers the media and gobby Mrs Murphy at the schoolgate keep talking about ...(In China the family are sent an invoice for the bullet used to execute their loved one .I think theres a similar principle involved here-although their fee is a lot more than cost of a bullet.Ive paid 500 so far I reckon. )
