Handled very well by a professional crew, tbh I wouldn't be afraid and I have full faith in modern Airliners and I say this as someone who was supposed to be onboard MH17 last July. If anything that whole experience helped me overcome any fear of flying, and basically if its your time it is your time.

Fairly surprised at the use of oxygen masks, unless of course it was absolutely determined there no fire. Even if there was none and with the engine failure causing the smoke within the cabin, our own SEPs wouldn't allow the use of oxygen masks for obvious reasons.

Saw a picture of this on another site, Glad to see all the passengers were able to bring all their cabin baggage with them...... down the emergency slides.

I read something similar about the Asiana crash last year in America, surely cabin crew should tighten up on this or else install locks on overhead bins.

Footage of the AF crash in Toronto a few years ago showed the same pattern. The problem for the cabin crew is that any attempt to stop it happening will actually slow down the evacuation. Have you ever seen the belligerence of pax at a boarding gate when told no more room on the aircraft?

Maybe locks that are activated by one button which the cc has access to ONLY is the solution?

What I was impressed by was the fact that people are so calm about the whole thing that they feel ok filming it!
