Getting fitted

So I'm going to bit the bullet and get fitted after Christmas, will probably go to the guys in Birr to avail of their Trackman but my question is - woods or irons first?

Should I go irons first as you hit more shots in a round versus woods?

Or are woods more likely to yield a significant improvement once properly fitted(versus off the peg)?

Honest answer is, irons are as likely to yield the same as the woods are once the honeymoon period is over, i.e. little or no lasting effect without significant time practicing and improving your swing and short game.

I would buy the woods first and then the irons but i guess you will be getting a full test of your current clubs.

Its likely that your existing irons will be good enough with some tweaks to loft and lie.

I've got stuff fitted in Foregolf and Birr as well as 'basic' in-store fitting in McGuirks, Lepordstown.

For me, no club yielded a significant improvement over off-the-shelf clubs I have bought in the past.
However, getting them fitted does take some of the uncertainty out of the club and that has a value.
