    Hi

My wife has been working in the same job for about 8 years. The company started to pay VHI for her and gave here a letter to send to revenue(back in January but she only sent it two weeks ago), saying so and BIK would be deducted at 20%. She sent it revenue and her weekly PAYE jumped up about 300% due to week 1 tax?. The company accounts said she will have to wait till next year to claim it back. Is this correct any idea why they would put her on week 1?. She also recieved a letter from revenue saying she under paid about €50 a few days ago

    Thanks

It may be Revenue believe she is receipt of other income.

She should ring the PAYE helpline and ask why she was put on the Week 1 basis. Depending on her circumstances Revenue may switch her back to cumulative basis which means she would receive any refund due through the payroll
