rear brake routing

Looking for some advice on rear cable routing.

Frame is a Fuji altimira and is 50cm at the seat tube. This leads to a very steep angle from the cable goes back to the outer to bend for the brake caliper. It's very hard for me to get the distance correct so the brake action is free.

    Any ideas?

I'd suggest a shorter height caliper but it looks like yours is short already

I suppose you could always route the cable on top of the top tube with some sort of braze on alternative

I was going to try running cable outer all the way down without using the grommet things on the top tube

Have you tried compressionless housing? I reckon there's not much more you can do regarding the housing length.

I had about 5 different lengths cut but the angle it runs into the barrel adjuster is very sharp. I raised it up to try and narrow it. A real pita

Would lateral pull brakes give you a bit more space? As per Plastik's post there could be some scope to butcher carefully modify the brake pipes.

I just had a look at my own rear brake which has pretty much the same layout. The following length of outer works fine for me, with no stiffness on the rear pull / brake action. Brakes are Veloce FWIW.
