    Hi all

Im very eager to contact anyone who owns/ has ownes a mazda 8.
Love the look of these cars and iv heard they handle very well, all be it with not as much torque as youd expect.

But iv also heard about alot of engine replacements and parts needed plus apparently that rotary engine isnt very fuel efficient ... im not naive.. i know most cars in this bracket are not misers on petrol!

Id just like to know whats your experience with this motor?.. worth buying?
I know the basics.. change oil, spark plugs,... general maintenance but thats about it.

I have an interest in cars and i love to drive! the thoughts of a 1.3 corolla depress me :P

i was considering an RX8, the insurance and tax(i think) and very expensive on them, and they are treated as 2.7L engines. even though they are technicall only 1.3

they are a craicin looking car... but i went for a VVTLi celica instead.. 190bph and 30mgp (when driven with care) and insurance was dirt cheap.

*EDIT* or you could just get a bike.. even my smallest bike 125cc was more fun then any car iv'e had yet.

Actually they're tax is cheaper than the Celica. Is taxed as a 1.7 / 1.8. But yes, insurance is a cost alright.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Id love a bike for weekends ect but my issue with bikes is that it dosent matter how carefully you drive it... there always a wanker in a car that dosent look out for bikers... and the bike comes out worse off

Dont have the same punch as the 7 due to lack of turbo's but a very smooth well balanced car to drive..excellent driving posttion (6ft)....engines need to be rebuilt , if the one youre buying hasnt had a rebuild (properly) walk away or haggle on price..

If you would like a bike you should go for the license at least to see if you like it.
While it's true what you say about the possibility of a car wiping you out there are dangers in all walks of life. Good training can help you anticipate these risks.
