Problem with Lock on VW Golf

I'm having a problem with the locks on an 01 Golf Mk4. I only have the key blade so can only manually lock. I went to lock it from the passenger door for the first time a few weeks ago. The key wouldn't twist and when I pulled it out, the entire barrel came with it. It looks like it was superglued in, so I disassembled and tried to clean it up a bit, but it still wouldn't twist. I've just stuck the barrel back in the door, but its still loose.
Since then, when I lock from the drivers side, all doors lock and then the passengers door unlocks again immediately. The only way I can lock the car is by locking from the drivers side and then manually locking the passengers side.
The fob on the inside of the drivers door to lock the car is also missing.
I know the what a mess this sounds like, but would anyone what the best way to fix this is? I don't mind not having a fob or even being unable to lock the drivers side from the inside. Mainly, if anyone knows what the problem on the passengers side would be?
    Thanks
