City missing Fernando, Zabaleta and Jovetic. Bayern in the midst of an injury crisis, missing Ribery, Badstuber, Schweinsteiger, Rafinha, Alcantara, Javi Martinez, and possibly Arjen Robben.

I was wrong about Rafinha, he's starting. You're dead right, we couldn't be playing Bayern at probably the best possible time, but it's still a fantastic XI they've put out. I'm very hopeful of a win but would take a draw.

    City should win this

    Should they? Based on what?

    9/2 if you're so confident.

    Munich are at home

Strange Aguero not starting, wonder why?

Missing Ribery, Badstuber, Schweinsteiger, Rafinha, Alcantara, Javi Martinez, Robben, and they still put out a brilliant team.

Really tough to call, would take a draw. Prediction 2-2

He wants to try one up front today understandably, as an isolated forward Dzeko is probably just about the better of the two. I'd rather they were both playing personally.

I wish my team could have that sort of injury crisis! :pac:

    Still a formidable front line.

Id prefer to start with just Dezko aside from the fact we need to mind Kun we can always bring him on.
Away in europe is all about trying to win the midfield battle and i think a 5 man mid is the way to go

Pity that Kun isn't playing, but I can understand Manuel keeping him for the Chelsea game at the weekend. We should go out and not be afraid of Bayern. They're a great club, and deserve massive respect for all they've achieved in the game. But we will have to beat this calibre of club at some stage if we want to have a real go at progressing a fair way into the tournament (can't see us winning it though, Real Madrid for me).

Did Brady say Lewandowski cost Munich a fortune?

Ballack said something similar a few minutes ago. Must have been a big signing on fee.

Yeah id say easily a couple of mil for big rob and another couple of mil for his agent!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 572 ✭✭✭Joe Exotic

or maybe brady doesn't know and its just one of those cliches they throw out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,209 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

I think Lewandowski will put Citys defence to the sword here.

Bayern's strip makes them look rather like Barca.

City defence sliced apart and a very lucky escape.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I was cringing when George hadn't realised he missed and kept speaking about the goal

It was definitely whispered in to his ear that it wasn't a goal :D he was still going on about even though there was no sign of a celebration.

Muller is the most dangerous footballer on the planet, he is a jack of all trades master of most of them.

Sagna and Hart keeping us in it. Bayern's organization far superior. Would happily take a draw now for sure, although we look dangerous on the rare occasion we can attack in numbers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Joe Hart having a worldie, otherwise this would be over and its not as if Munich are that impressive. Just smooth.

I have enjoyed Heynckes Bayern alot more than Peps Bayern

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Chancer3001

    Peps bayern are weird.

It's like, look how well we can play the ball to the final third.

    Then they don't do anything.

Pretty much his tactics at Barcelona aswell except he had Messi in the final third which hid the flaw of his system.

Roma are certainly laying down their mark in this group, 5-0 up against CSKA.

Looks like he's having one of his occasional "just can't be bothered" seasons.

He is an excellent player and I would have him in my team no question....but he has a fairly severe flaw as a midfielder. Why isn't everybody talking about the fact that after 60 minutes in every single game he strolls around the place and barely runs at all? In every close up shot he looks like he is about to collapse with exhaustion.

Watch for it. It's like clockwork. He stops tackling and stops tracking runs and just strolls about until he gets the ball.

Those barnstorming runs are amazing to watch and he scores his share of important goals but I feel the media just gloss over his flaws.
    Kirby wrote: »
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Any pressing team wouldn't 100% be happy with him. He's brilliant, yes but hes lazy. He's overweight and defensively suspect.

No player is without their flaws. That is one of Toure's.

Been saying it for years. Literally years. These are old quotes. It feels refreshing to finally hear guys like Neville actually notice it.
