    Hi,

Just wondering if anybody knows what Workday are like to work for? Have an interview for automation test engineer position there this week and I am eager to do well.

    Thanks,

No idea what they are like, but I know they are on the ball, they have great software and they are growing fast. They are taking market share from peoplesoft and others, they employ talented people and they know what they are about.
It looks like a great company. I've seen their sales pitch in the US and in Ireland and I was impressed by their attitude and candor.

As for working in test automation? One of the most boring aspects of IT, and I am not easily bored by systems.

Thanks for the reply fuzzy, they seem to be really good? Why are you bored by test automation by the way?

I don't work in testing or QA, but those that I know who do find it to be an extremely uncreative, repetitive and thankless job. The testing automation team won't ever win accolades or earn the big bonuses. They won't generally get the glory or the satisfaction of working in technically fulfulling areas of IT, like dealing with IT incidents, hacks, crises, wrapping projects, designing software and implementing sweeping changes.

I know lots of great coders all over the world, but I only know of average ones working in test automation. Sorry if that seems harsh, I'm not trying to piss on anyone's cornflakes, just telling it like I see it.
