    Hi my husband and i are both on social welfare out money is together as we are married in myhusbanda name however I have been offered a full time job with a salary of €19,000 a year and we are living in a council house paying €40 a week! Will our rent go up loads and will my husband be entitled to still get some money off social welfare if I take the job??

    You will need to ask your local council about your rent,If your husband is on a means tested payment he may get a reduced payment.

    Thanks it's just the council or the dole office won't give me any information they say we have to fills out forms etc.. But all I want to know is if my husband will be entitled to anything of them or will be both have to live on €19,000 a year

    I think his money should be ok (maybe a reduction ) but you will lose your benefits.....not sure about rent

    Assuming its just you and your husband and he is currently receiving €312.80 I am assuming €19000 is gross per year and that you will work 3 days per week or more. The minimum he will receive on jsa is €129.80 as I have not factored in prsi deductions from your earnings.

    I cannot answer your rent question.

    Look at your Council's website for differential rent. It shows how increased income will translate into rent payable.

    But do take the job!
