    Appreciate any help on this.

I have an English yoke no book and I wrote to DVLA for cert of export.

It turns out cert of export was issued in 2006

However I got a DVLA letter stating to help me "with registration I can confirm the following details.

    Make model xxx
    Chassis no xxx
    Engine no xxx
    Body type
    Colour
    Date of first reg.

As the car is vintage will registration office or vrt entertain this ?

    Any experience Lads.
    Thanks in advance

Ask them. I'd guess they'd be in a better position to tell you than us

I'm guessing with the cert of export from 2006 you may be in a spot of bother with late VRT/registration penalties

Either furnish details requested by the DVLA in order for them to issue another export certificate or contact NCTS or Revenue and ask them what the procedure is to register a vehicle without identity papers (probably requires a manufacturers or similar dating cert. Something officially acceptable as to the age of the vehicle.)

I'd do the first, they're not asking much. It's probably less hassle too. Just ask them nicely to put the appropriate date of export on the cert.

you mis-understand, or do I? the DVLA gave him the info in an effort to help him re-register the car here. As I read it, they weren't looking for the info

I've had two certs of exports for a car I owned before. I just applied for the second and it came with a new date of export. It was a straight forward application like the first.

Isn't the problem that the DVLA will only send a new cert of export (or V5C presumably) to the registered address which may well not be the current owner's ?

Sorry, misread it, as they ask for more info than that just a reg for a export cert.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-for-a-certificate-of-permanent-export

Contact the DVLA by post to apply with the above form for an export certificate.

The DVLA are an enormous beast. If you phone them, you can get a different answer each time. Also, when asking, sending letters they can be a bit crap. When it's a standard form, they can usually get their head round those.

Fill in the V756 form and post it to the indicated address. If you don't hear after six weeks, chase them up.

It looks like letter from DVLA will do the trick , I'll revert back to confirm .
