I've just had e-fibre installed and have run into a bit of an issue. Set up router plugged into primary main socket in my livingroom from this i had Ethernet cable going into a Eircom Homeplug n (200Mbps) to which I have my PC connected in another room via another Homeplug. Cable from router to skybox in livingroom

However with the e-fibre connection the PC's broadband speed is 17.Mbps on average using the Homeplugs. I've plugged in my laptop directly to the new router that eircom installed and getting 70 to 80 Mbps ?, i have noticed that the wireless from the router also drops the speed by 60%. any help would be great

    TL-WPA281/TL-WPA271 are the Home plugs.
    Eircoms router is the f1000.

    Hi
Are the homeplugs connected directly in the power socket or are you using a power block / extension lead ?

Those look nothing like the homeplugs I got from Eircom but if they are tp links then you can download the powerline utility to check your speeds. http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/

    In very good conditions I used to see 30Mb - 40Mb (3MB - 5MB) on 200Mb powerline adapters

I recently upgraded by plugs from 200Mbs to the AV2 600+Mbs and it improved my stats a lot!

Many things can affect the Homplug such as other devices plugged in, especially noisey devices such as dimmer switches, lamps, UPS and anything with moving parts like a washing machine or dryer. So if you have lights that are controlled by a dimmer switch try turning them off to see if the sync speed increases in the Powerline Utility

Thank you for this post. I see from the picture that your new AV2 plus connect at 243Mbps which is very good. Are you gettings 30MB per second? 6 to 10 times more than the older powerline plugs?
