Well worth it for the price. Couple this with torque on android and you have a handy portable diagnostic system.

They're pretty hand alright, also works with alfaobd, multiecuscan etc. The wired versions are more reliable and the bluetooth range is rubbish.

Same price without a coupon on buy in coins and a few cents cheaper on ebay so no need to rush. http://www.buyincoins.com/item/36439.html

Just fyi theres no such thing as elm 1.5 all of these chinese ones report a fake elm version its probably v1.2 so may not support commands required for newer vehicles.

What cars are it compatible with?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,828 ✭✭✭stimpson

Should be compatible with most cars made in the past 20 years. My Volvo only reports some sensors though and can't clear codes without a Volvo reader. Just to note that Bluetooth obdc readers aren't compatible with the iphone. You need a wifi one.

    Good price though.

As to what you can do with it, this is just an interface what you can do depends on the software you're conencting to it, generally people are just reading / clearing dtc and monitoring live data, some software will allow actuator tests, and things like abs bleeding, airbag procedures with adapter cables. But generally you're better off wih a KKL cable with those softwares.

In the usa maybe - 18 years in fact, obd wasn't mandated in europe until 2001 for petrols and 2004 for diesels and you'll find some vans up to 2007 aren't compatible. There are some models that do have obd back to the 90s though.
