Three Mobile Broadband over-usage charges - advice?

Friend of mine just received a €66 bill from Three for going over the 15gb data allowance by 800mb on their €21.99 plan.

Person in question called them and enquirer about it - long story short, the bill stands but she now knows her contract expires next month.

What would you do in this situation? Just pay the €66 and be done with Three next month and switch providers? Or try avoid paying the bill and switch provider asap? Or what can be done?

I think it's ridiculous really. Can't believe they are charging three times the bill for using not even an extra gig of data. Heading into 2015 & this is still going on? Surely there is an option? Three phone support are no help.

    Thanks

3 Support are never any help.

In my experience they'll tell you everything you want to hear on the phone and then they won't actually do anything about it.

I would just pay the bill and be done with it.

It's a hard way to learn a lesson but unfortunately it seems to happen very often.

That's what they agreed to when they signed up. €66 isn't that bad, I think tesco charge 0.25 c per mb over, would have put your mate in the red for €200!

They signed a contract, they broke it, they pay the predefined penalty. Simple as.

Yeah, got charged €45 extra going over 800+MB as well ... ****ing ridiculously expensive(€0.05 per MB)...

Nonetheless, going over is going over - pay up and stop wasting people's time trying to 'sort' it.

Guess they will just pay the €66 but they will be moving to a new provider end of next month. Shame that they couldn't offer an alternative to keep them as customers.

They're a robbing shower of bastards I was on the €20.33 plan for 40 GB of usage got the letter couple of weeks ago saying that the goverment levy was being removed blah blah blah didnt relly pay to much attenion then on the 2 of september my broad band stopped working phoned up 3 and was told that now I was only getting 15 GB usage for €23.00 *which the letter failed to point out clearly*
after checking usage on line I was charges €60 euro for one days internet over usage on the 3 of september rang comreg today who were very interested in what I told them rang 3 so called customer support and told them the situation and explained the situation and demanded to be contacted by a manager of some sort (still waiting for that one!!) if they think they're going to ride me for over usage they can go f**k themselfs as I will cancell the direct debit before they get a chance to take the money from my account any one else going to take the same approach ??
