-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is returning to Raw, and John Cena will be looking for a fight.

-As Jericho’s collision with Orton awaits at Night of Champions, Y2J might get a startling reminder of why Orton was once known as The Legend Killer.

-A marquee Divas Tag Team Match has already been set for Raw pitting Brie & AJ against Nikki & Paige, but how will the ensuing chaos alter the three-way race for the Divas Title?

-Will The Miz have something up his tailored sleeve for Ziggler, or will the Hollywood star need a calming seaweed bath and shiatsu massage to de-stress before Night of Champions?

-Will Rollins look to stomp out Reigns’ momentum before their bout at Night of Champions?

Ambrose to interrupt proceedings at the PPV and allow Reigns to get the win/or see him DQ'd in order to keep both Reigns and Rollins strong.

More Kane giving Reigns a good Kane-ing with Rollins.

    Not so obvious now!

It was such a dumb move to give reigns such a clean win less than a week before the PPV.

The only way I see Rollins winning this if ambrose interferes and turns and cost reigns the match which makes even less sense!

I know there is an annual slump. But Jesus. Raw has been so so bad the last few weeks.

I enjoyed the Cena/Heyman/Brock stuff, I'd have thought it will have sold a couple of subscriptions to the Network at least.

Raw was good last week. Don't pretend otherwise.

Boards being quiet isn't that much of a barometer of show quality.

The show was grand last week.

Booking this week from top to bottom almost was completely nonsensical.

I got to the Divas tag match, then turned it off and watched the TNA Asylum years DVD instead. Much better.

So RAW's been poor 3 out of the last 4 weeks i.e. it's been garbage lately. No need to pull others up on it. The length of Boards threads indicates interest, and after last week's decent show, it didn't do anything. It's a fair (and correct) assumption that it's a skippable show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

I think its fair to suggest that WWE goes into a quasi 'preseason mode' between Summerslam and the Royal Rumble. To be honest can you blame them when they're up against the NFL during their time slots.

Boards in general has been quiet for a while and longer than the bad run of Raw.

Surely that should be more reason to try and compete harder. More so now than ever the WWE should consider an off season.

But it'd be a competition they'd have no realistic hope of winning...

They don't need to win it at all, they need to compete to retain a strong market share of the audience. It'll like they've thrown in the towel lately with their booking.

Its brutal aye, but to be fair NFL is a ratings beast, lots of times they have been thrown out some hot shows around NFL time and they die a death ratings wise.

Honestly while we prefer Raw to be good, the ratings of the show really depends on how good the NFL is for the most part. :o

Swagger match was good, Kane vs Jericho was good/very good, Cena Heyman leading into Brock was great, the six man tag match was awesome and I fell asleep at 3:15am so can't say anything for the last hour, first Raw I have watched live in a few weeks while it wasn't the best for a go home show from what I did see it was watchable.

Was the entertainment value for Raw not off the charts last night? Where else can you see elite wrasslin action like this*?

Did she.... did she call for the ref to count a pin.... with her opponent face down???

Also, why are these 2 colour co-ordinated, if they are feuding now?

Yes...Yes she did. I'm guessing she thought it would be the divalicious thing to do...

Ok, that's borderline racist. They were both born that wa... oh the outfits. Never mind.

They showed some Total Divas skit were the two girls were talking about going solo as if the Funkadactyls hadn't broken up months ago. If the episode was shot months ago that's fair enough but they were acting like it was current events. All that's gonna do is confuse people. No continuity.

Also, why was there a camera man also locked in Cena's dressing room with Heyman. Does he live in there?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,788 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

It was a bizarre Raw. I genuinely don't mind giving midcard feuds a boost by letting them close the show, but Henry/Rusev just didn't feel like a show closer to me. Cena/Brock actually would have made far, far more sense there.

Heyman's second promo about Cena becoming a Paul Heyman guy was good, and the pull apart was good. Shame it's a story they run every three months now where they tease a heel turn to try and get people to buy the C-Level PPV.

Reigns/Rollins makes no sense unless the plan is for Rollins to get a clean win on Sunday and then move quickly on from the feud.

RE: No point fighting NFL ratings....personally, two points I'd make.

Millions, domestically and internationally, do not watch NFL and thus just see a **** Raw for no reason, which damages them far, far more than trying and failing to compete.

Two, why not use that time to try some new things; give new guys pushes, try and come up with a few interesting stories, push the boat out. The attitude of "Ah, why bother?" is hugely damamging imo.

Am I the only one who thinks it's stupid having matches on Raw based on something that was said on the latest Total Divas? I know Cameron and Naomi have history, but how often have they set up a match because Summer said something to Natalya months ago.

And when I first saw that gif, I thought it was Alicia so assumed she was just being crazy again. Remember that whole character they had going for Alicia which was entertaining tv?

And I really don't like the whole "America, F Yeah" storylines, for obvious reasons. Remember the UnAmericans getting cheered anytime they went outside America?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,958 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Weird Raw. They didn't really leave anything to the imagination. When you look at matches for Night of Champions they've pretty much all fullon gone at it tonight.

Reigns beats Rollins clean 6 days before they're the 2nd biggest match on the card at the PPV. Wtf? Reigns doesn't seem to be getting any better either, on the contrary he seems to be less entertaining by the week. Poor chap is doomed.

I do like that they went with Rusev v Henry as the end of the show though, and unlike some I'm all about the America **** Yeah stuff. I do worry though that they still haven't actually decided where all this Rusev build is going, and even though I think he is class, he is probably destined to be another victim of the Cena burial.

Cena v Heyman/Lesnar wasn't half as entertaining as the week before. Well mostly because it was the exact same until Brock showed up.

This will be one of those PPVs where I watch it the following morning before work rather than staying up, and hate you all for ruining the fact that Dean Ambrose is almost certainly going to be there.
