    One of those figures who was always around and about the industry died today, rock fans of a certain vintage might remember the bassist from his time with the Ian Gillan band in the late 70s when the ex Purple singer put together an eclectic jazz rock favoured line up. Gustafson also played with the Merseybeats, Roxy Music (four albums but never part of the band) and proggers Quatermass and Gordon Giltrap plus many others as a studio musician.
