Buying a car with personalised number plates

    Hi boards.ie
    thinking of buying an audi a4 and done an autotrader vehicle check. Everything checked out fine except it said the number plate had been changed. The person that owns the car has owned it from new according to the check so i was wondering is there anything i can do to make sure the car isnt a clone and should he have documents stating he has changed the plates? Im from the north btw

    My car got a personal plate, its not much of a big deal. a hpi check will tell if the plates are changed, they will be flagged up red.

    as long as everything else checks out i would not matter too much (vin numbers etc etc)
