Build new gaming PC ~€1,000 - €1,500

Hey guys,

Looking to build a high end gaming PC. Any help/hints would be greatly appreciated!
The things I am most concerned/worried about are over heating and noise from fans...

1. What is your budget? €1,500 but flexible.

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming (WoW, Skyrim, LoL, etc)/Video editing/Internet(streaming, downloading, etc)

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Xanthos Cooltek Midi Tower

5. Do you need a monitor? No - Using flat screen TV

5a. If yes, what size do you need. N/A

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? Current resolution of 1366x768. 32inches.

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Yes. Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Headphones Not sure if I need a Card Reader though. Anything else you could think of I will take under advisement.

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes - very interested/willing!

8. How can you pay? Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser

9. When are you purchasing? ASAP

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Limerick but have a friend that is willing to help. Will bribe with pizza. =P

Now, all that should come to around 1,170 before Geizhals.de. - Without a case since you said you have a Xanthos Cooltek Midi Tower and if you're happy using that, that's perfect.

By doing this, you'll make the i5 4690k cheaper than the i5 4670k and you'll make the Vapor-X worth it for the price. I realise that the peripherals are expensive for what they are, a mouse, keyboard and a headset. However, I've used fully plastic mice for a long time and when I got the m65, I knew I would never go back (It is plastic too but the metal frame helps to add a really nice weight to the mouse.) As for the keyboard, you're going to be using it a lot, you might as well make sure that it lasts a long time and headset, well... I never take my siberia's off they're very comfortable.

Now, down to the headset/headphone.

I was a bit unsure because of this: There's a difference between headphone and headset.

The HyperX Cloud is a gaming headset but it does not deliver the same performance as the Siberia v2's for sound locating an enemy in an fps. The HyperX can sound as if they're far off in the distance and way beyond locating via sound. Where-as, with the Siberia's, you can easily locate via sound.

The only thing I was wondering about was would it be worthwhile to invest in a larger PSU?
I was thinking of the Cooler Master V1000 - 1000 Watt. Its 170 euro on Komplett.
Can you recommend any brand of fans?

Oh- and I think I'll go with the Siberia v2 headset. Hopefully the better quality can give me that little bit of a performance boost =D Not that I have performance issues!=P

Unless you're going for 290 crossfire, I wouldn't go over 650 max or you're completely wasting money:

In regards to fans, the Corsair AF Series LED Fans are pretty sweet.

But note: This is a full tower which will mean that there will be quite a lot of room for installing long graphics cards (like the one in this build)

If you went for the Phantom 530 you could have your config like:

2 x 140mm fans (front intake)
1 x 140 mm fan (back/rear exhaust)
2 x 140 mm fan (top exhaust)

That means you could get:

If you're going for the Xanthos as your case you'll probably have to remove the hard-drive cages.

This may seem like quite a few fans but if you're worried about cooling, you wont be able that and they're the Quiet Editions. There's also a fan controller on the back of the NZXT case so you can plug all the fans into that and control the fans with the case. <high/medium/low settings>

Well I already own the Xanthos (only thing I actually have so far!) so changing it without ever using it would be a bit of a waste - even though the cases you linked look far more smexy

Went for the normal Tri-X OC for the better price/performance ratio that you mentioned. Fingers crossed XD
I also decided to splurge and go for the 850watt just to cover myself for future upgrades...
Will be browsing the peripherals later on tonight-so I can really take my time lol

Nah, that's the stuff you'll be seeing the most.

If you're choosing a different mouse take these into account:

Make sure it has a decent weight(adjustable is always best.)
Laser is best if you want overall surface compatibility.
