    Hi,

I'm looking at buying a 2006 Audi A4 sline 2.0 diesel or 2005 A4 1.9 petrol. I've heard the 2.0 diesel are troublesome and that I should look at the 1.9 instead.

    Can anyone give advice please?

    Cheers,

    J

There was no 1.9 petrol in the B7 A4, it was either the old 1.8t or the newer 2.0 TFSi. There was also a 1.9 TDi (115bhp) sold along side the 2.0 TDi.

If the engine is - "BRE Engine code gear driven oil pump unlike the troublesome chain driven", does this make any difference on the 2.0L diesel? Sorry man, this is all getting seriously confusing....Cheers, J
