Hi, was just wondering how would I go about opening a joint account. There are four of us that want to open it together. Three of us are already BOI customers. It's for paying rent and the usual household bills from. Is there anyway to set it up online as we are all working and it would be difficult/impossible for us all to call into branch at the one time. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi jemmyboy,

Thanks for getting in contact with us here on Boards.ie.

It is only possible to open either a joint (2 people) or sole personal account and only account holders would have access to manage and view this through 365Online. However it would be possible for other parties to transfer funds into this account. You can now open an account over the phone with our dedicated Account Opening team here.

Our representatives can open this over the phone and then when it is convenient, you can drop into the branch with the appropriate identification to activate the account.

We hope this helps and we can assist you with anything else, please don't hesitate to post again.

    Thanks,
    Elaine
