I have my 4 light up the passage wired onto a plug and tonight they tripped the switch again they have being doing this for a while they would work for 10 days and then they might trip the switch and I would have to plug them out as the trip switch keeps tripping so I pull out the plug to put it up again. It's getting fair annoying and there's nothing wrong with the wiring as there a simple light.what could be wrong if you need more info pm me thanks

probably dampness getting into it somewhere.

Look for water lodged in the bottom of the light fittings, plug and any connectors.

I changed all connectors to new water proof ones last Saturday and each night I put one light on a timer to find the fault and at the 3rd night one of the four tripped the switch so I took it up and changed the earth by putting a bolt onto the side and putting the wire underneath it and changed its connector I thought it only came on wet night but it tripped tonight on a fantastic evening and maybe it will work again. What will I do I want to solve this

Disconnect them all, then reconnect one by one until you find the troublemaker. Then inspect the culprit more closely.

    hi jjjjjjjk

First of all welcome to boards, secondly there is no need to invite PMs as this is a general discussion forum and knowledge is best shared.:)

I have two quick questions, have you got these lights plugged into a standard domestic 13Amp plug top?

And what device is tripping is it a 10 amp or a 20 amp MCB or and RCD that takes out all your sockets?
