Can anyone recommend a surgeon for reconstruction of a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament? Obviously everyone thinks Ray Moran is the best but my insurance wont stretch to the sports surgery clinic. I've an appointment to see Maurice Neligan in the Beacon who is the chief of orthopedics there and wonder has anyone else dealt with him or other surgeons in the beacon, hermitage, SVUH etc.

Check to see if you are covered for the Cappagh as Ray Moran is still on their list so he might do the surgery there for you.

I went to Paul McNamee in the Bons Secours in Dublin. He did a great job and I was back playing football a year later with no ill effect. A few years later I tore some cartilage in the same knee and he repaired that too. I don't play competitively any more but the knee is still fine to play a bit of astro and golf every week.
