Has anyone heard of these? If so anyone know where I can get them in Cork?

You're much more likely to get helpful replies here in the Cork City forum.

I'd say someone was having you on... Or showing you a plum.

Haven't seen them for sale anywhere but you can buy the tree from all the big suppliers.

Excellent. Now all I have to do is buy a tree and plant it. I'll report back in 10 to 15 years.

    :-D

Actually, it may not be as long as that, I planted 2 year old stock trees and probably had a small crop within 2 years. But as to immediate availability, perhaps enquire in Marks and Spencer? I could see it being something they might sell.

My neighbour is really interested in growing them so I will send him the link. We have a couple of trees ourselves but they are all cooking apples. Tempted to make room for one more tree.
Cheers, I'll check out Marks and Spencer. I like to go in there sometimes to look at the posh food.

The link in my first post is just the online article verifying the existence of red fleshed apples. Bare root fruit trees should be available for sale in the next month or two, when they are dormant and safe to dig up, send by post and plant in their final location.

I've bought fruit trees and other plants from 3 Irish retailers. 1st would be Future Forests in Kealkil. They're more heritage specialists, I don't see any Redlove varieties on their site, but a quick email to them would clear that up. Always been very happy with my purchases from them.

2nd would be Mr Middleton, also good, generally a bit pricier. They have Redlove species, out of stock currently, but would expect that to change as we head into winter and prime fruit tree planting time comes around.

3rd is Johnstown Garden Centre, they have Redlove type trees in stock it seems - http://www.johnstowngardencentre.ie/c/fruit/403

    Good luck!
