Just to get away from the frankly ridiculous reg debates that almost every thread here descends into recently.
Not to often one of these 80's monsters comes on the market, from an era when the leash was truly off the engineer for better or worse, this one and the 205 t16 were my faves.

Nice , how many road going t16s were sold?

AFAIK for group B they had to create a minimum of 200 road going versions. However I think in some cases many of the road going versions that were built were then stripped again by the manufacturer and used for Motorsport purposes, a very interesting era of Motorsport, it has gotten quite sterile and samey with regard to the machinery they are running these days IMO.

201 made and I assume they were all sold bar the 1 which Peugeot kept.
Shame they were so rare but I suppose it adds to the aura.

Joe macari has a soft spot for deltas in general! What an amazing motor that
Stradale, bit off topic but I think in the mid 80s somebody here in Ireland rallied a lancia 037 stradale for a while?

Penti Airikkala did the '84 or '85 Circuit of Ireland in one with Irish Mirror sponsorship (and either stuffed it into a ditch or it broke as it didn't finish). That was the only 037 that rallied here I think.

OP, I assume you mean Group B as the S4 is a Group B machine, and Group 4 finished up as a class in 1981.

I think the 037 lancia was ran in team PR Reilly Colors? Could be wrong do

I've just checked the Rally Retro website. It was the '83 COI and it was the Evening Herald I was thinking of.

MG built all 200 Metro 6R4's as rally cars, some as International spec works cars and the rest as Clubman spec rally cars.

Manufacturers had awful trouble selling the full compliment of 200 in some cases. Some went for massive discounts!!

    What a lineup!

"The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 scooped the World Rally Championship in 1985 and 1986, and variants based on it would go on to dominate Pikes Peak. In rallying trim, its tiny 1.8-litre engine would kick out 500bhp.
This, however, is a road car - and one that hasn't seen much in the way of roads; it's done just 1700km from new. Up for sale with RM Auctions at its London sale in September, it's a little bit more pricey than that toy car – £60k-£95k is the estimate."

Not too bad either for such a rare car.

T16 for 95k would be very reasonable going by the values other homologation specials are making.

Edit: had a look on the net for that car auction and the T16 sold for £156,800.
