HI, I have a budget of about 9.5k to spend on a car. Ive cut it down to 2 choices.
    1. 2008 1.9 TDI MATCH Golf
    2. 2008 1.4 TSI Audi A3 Ambition

Both are a similar price, similar mileage. I don't need a car to commute but I live in the country so ill be dong a bit of travelling around in it.

I'd have a Golf Match over a Leon ecomotive tbh.

Yea i had a look at the leon and focus as well but the golf seem like a better option. I will have a look at civics tho :)

That Leon doesn't match up. The door cars and the seats aren't right, someone's swapped the interior.

At your budget OP I'd consider finding a Leon TSI. As long as you stay with 16 inch wheels they're a good car and can be had within budget.

Bigger wheels really ruin the ride and make them back breaking.

The Leon hasnt aged well, its like an artists impression of an Alfa 147

3 door in the right colour looks well imo.

Rear handles are up in the back window. My old one looked identical to that one.

Same fella designed that and the 147. The lines are way too similar, surprised they got away with it at the time tbh. Personally think it's aged better than a 147 but I'll probably be shot for having that opinion.

What about a Skoda Octavia. You would get a much higher spec Octavia compared to either of them cars for your 10k and they use the exact same engines and platform. They are also more reliable than there VW cousins and cheaper to service too. You might even get a Vrs Octavia if you want.
What about looking at a Mazda 3,a Kia C,eed or a Hyundai i30 as well. The Kia and Hyundai both have a 1.6 tdi engine not sure about the Mazda.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.
