Aren't you delighted young royal couple will now have their spare?

In fairness Will and Kate seem like decent enough people, don't really think it's fabulous news.

Kay Burley has probably just exploded with excitement.

Hyperemesis gravidarum sounds absolutely horrible, I wouldn't wish it on anyone

I've a fiece dose of the scutters myself this morning. I'll have an update after the weather.

It was reported that David Cameron is delighted with the news.

You'd swear he was the daddy :D

Seemingly at the very moment you strive not to care, you really do care.

God I wouldn't wish that on any woman, my sister-in-law had that for her 3 pregnancies, it's an awful condition.

Jesus that type of journalism annoys me.

He's hardly going to say 'is wan not enough for the wastards?' now, is he?

I'm surprised Kay Burley wasn't live at the scene.

But they're "rubbing his face in it" don't you know?

The poor woman, wouldn't wish that on anyone. Hopefully it'll clear up for her after week 12, although I know a few who had it the whole way through. Not nice.

Poor timing when you think about it about. If they'd have planned properly she'd be due now, they'd call the baby Hamish Jock McTaggert and this whole Scotland thing would just blow over.

I note that the official statement from Buckingham Palace on this issue makes no apology for atrocities committed over the years on the island of Ireland.

We should expel the British ambassador immediately.

Congrats and best wishes to them.

I worked with 2 different girls who had hypermeisis gravidarium (sp) they were both infinitely sicker than Kate appeared.
It's a horrible thing to face during a pregnancy.

She can't possibly be pregnant. Everyone knows that the Royals are egg-laying, like most reptilian species.

They're in talks to get Kay Burley an all access pass to Kate's uterus, so we can all be informed when the royal baby sprouts another toe.

    That could take time.

Kensington Palace had to inform Clarence House of the looming announcement in the first place, Clarence House would have then consulted with Buckingham Palace who in turn would have spoken with Windsor Castle as The Queen is out of town. Windsor Castle would have had to get in touch with Barmoral Estate where she is currently on holiday. Balmoral Estate would then have expressed her 'delight' on the matter through Windsor Castle who would then relay the comment to Buckingham Palace to be issued in turn by Clarence House following approval from Number 10 Downing Street and Whiethall to ensure it doesn't clash with other government announcements.

The French had the Russians had the right idea with that lot, the shower of useless parasites. We'll keep the Pippa one though, she's a lasher.

Sky news will be delighted, now they've got a story to run with until the Pistorius verdict on Thursday. So they can fill the gaps between the royal pregnancy and the Pistorius verdict with 9/11 and the cancer kid. Nothing else seems to happen in the world of Sky, other than 3 or 4 stories that they run with all day.

They have always come across as two genuinely lovely people. I wish them all the best. I get the impression that they would rather do without all the media hype that surrounds them.

They couldn't have timed it better. All that patriotic celebration of the spare to the heir could actually deliver the Scottish vote to retain the Union, its so finely balanced its a definite possibility.

Better yet from a Unionist persective, if they announced the name will either be Andrew or Andrea it would be game over.

Watch Sky News, ITV, BBC, RTE, UTV and keep an eye on this thread for the next few days and you'll get an idea about who and how many people care.

    Ah Great !!

Another rich kid that the UK Taxpayer can foot the bill for his/her oppulent lifestyle

Meanwhile good kids are graduating from the UK college system crippled with debt

Not really, as the "rich kid's" parents work and pay tax themselves. Also, the revenue generated from their wedding alone (merchandise) would cover that cost many times over.

    Fair play to her.

Can't help but feel sorry for her. My mother says she had hyperemesis gravidum on both her pregnancies (she says it's a sign of a good strong healthy pregnancy??) and says it was absolutely awful. Imagine going through that and either having to announce it to the world just so you can see a doctor without rampant speculation, or having rampant speculation about it. I actually quite like Will & Kate. They seem so.. Normal. Just a young couple starting a family (sans crippling mortgage etc.).

If a life long holiday is working then sure yeah I guess they do ..

Doubt it will make much difference one way or other although the crawling, sycophantic coverage these types of announcements are greeted with by most of the establishment English media could be mildly helpful to Yes campaign.

Wait 'till the get the first bill from the palace. The Republic may turn out to be far more cost effective.

Jaysus - she really suffers in pregnancy. Blue blood can't be good for the body in fairness.

Nope - I wouldn't wish that sickness on anyone. Constant nausea, all day long. Horrible.

Little George is cute as a button though.

It is too bad she is suffering from it. Severe morning sickness sucks. I lost 20 pounds over the course of my last pregnancy because I could not keep a thing down.

I hope it doesn't bother her for long and I am happy they are having another wee babe. :D

And once again, the Beeb embarrasses itself with its fawning coverage.

If only Kate knew what she was doing when she married this William chap. If only she were told about the media. She could have married that lovely plumber. He had a nice car, and a winning smile.

He's more or less joking about how RTE wouldn't cover his scutters, not joking about the actual sickness.

Kate is only doing what is required of her.

She gave them the heir, now the spare in case anything happens the heir.

I don't think it will be the Prince Harry mishap this time, where he looks like one of Diana's former lovers...

    Amusing thread.

Female posters showing sympathy for a woman facing a troublesome pregnancy, male posters trying their hardest to be clever (and looking foolish in the process).
