Change of address and post office

I'm currently on jobseekers, have applied for back to education allowance, and will be starting my course in a couple of weeks.

In the mean time I've moved and went to the local social welfare office (Athlone) to try and change my address and change the post office I'm collecting at. Not possible I'm told. They tell me I have to go to the Mullingar office as I'm registered there. I go to Mullingar and they tell me they can't do it and I'll have to go back to the Athlone office...so I'll be doing that tomorrow:confused:

Why would changing address/post office be anything but straightforward for them? I would have thought this would be the simplest thing for them to do:confused: I have proof of address, so it's not that. Could it be something to do with the btea as well? I'm hardly in a unique situation though.

I'm also wondering, I know you can't get jobseekers while in full-time education, but it'll be a few weeks at least after starting the course before I get btea, so do I keep getting jobseekers while I'm waiting or should I apply for supplementary allowance?

Edit: got it sorted out in Athlone and I will be able to stay on jobseekers til I get back to education.
