A plage is a bright region in the chromosphere of the Sun, typically found in regions of the chromosphere near sunspots.

A plage, pronounced pla-jay is the hard bit at the end of a duck billed platypus' bill, regarded as a delicacy by some aboriginal tribes.

It can also be fashioned into an ornament used on loin cloths on some aboriginal chiefs.

The word plage evolved from a dialect of an aboriginal tribe from the great sandy desert, and in English it would roughly translate to 'hard part at the opposite end of bum'
