Before any smart answers I mean my gundog, not the girlfriend :D:D:D
But anyway, bitch came into heat last week.
So far ive had the stud dog cover her 5 times so im hoping the job is done.
What im wondering now is how long will she be able to work for?
Or should I just keep her away from hunting until (hopefully) pups are born and weaned??

Hello pal. Usay she just came into heat last week well u need to bring her to the stud dog a few more times i would never bring mine until the second week when u can see a good show of blood. On the hunting u could hunt her for the next 5 weeks with no worries just keep her well feed. Good luck with her pal.

Cheers for that mate but when I say in heat last week I mean standing and mating.showing signs of heat 2 weeks ago.should have stated that.but will be introducing stud a few more times anyways.
    But 5 weeks?soooo she won't be on it for Nov 1st :(
At least I'll have a fresh pup to introduce next year!

11days after the first bleed is the only time she'll get pregnant, she will stop bleeding in the days where she is perfect for breeding, approx day 11 through to day 13. Day 14 max. Some bitched bleed right through.

You could start letting the make at her on day 10 but days 11,12,13 you'll be sorted.

Sorry, I have no advise for you,the pic just brings me back. she reminds me of my first "pet". My ould fella worked with her and she retired with me. Lovely animals, great attitude and temperament.

She's hard to catch in heat is why I'm trying to breed now.
And im not going to be stuck for a dog as I'm after buying that stud so he'll be making up for his 2 weeks fun!
