    Hello all,

Just a couple of quick questions. I am an unmarried father and am in the process of splitting up with my partner. I have the form for guardianship of children but it states online that it needs to be signed in the presence of a " peace commissioner".. what qualifies as a peace commissioner?

Secondly if my ex partner wishes to leave the country with the child will see need my consent in writing? .. im not worried about anything as we are on good terms.. just want to have all the knowledge possible.

    Thanks :)

Unless you have joint custody, you have little or no enforceable rights with respect to your child,

Even Joint custody or even marriage make little real difference.

Try Google peace commissioner to find out what they are, and you'll also find a list of them.
