DSP Inspector calls regarding Disability

I made a claim for DA a few months ago and this week DSP inspector called to my address without warning to "Examine my means".

She asked various questions about my illness, landlord, partners, ex partners, family, previous jobs and also asked if I wanted the DA for the free travel pass before checking my bank statements.

I answered all questions honestly as I have nothing to hide. Next day she phoned and asked me for my National Insurance number when I was in UK and what work I did there.

As an inspector has called, so is this the final check on my claim before authorising it to go ahead?

How long is it likely to be before I here something after this home visit?

It's hard to put s timeframe on it I'm afraid and alot will depend on the inspectors report

Is the inspector reporting on what she sees? What I tell her? Or what my bank A/cs have in them?

She was only here 10 minutes. Is that a good sign do you think...?

Yes she will write a report about her observations but she wont recommend one way or the other about wether or not you should qualify.
A Deciding Officer will read the report and make a decision.

Her "Observations"...? Do you mean if I had an expensive car parked in the drive or there was gold lameé wallpaper on the walls I would not get the DA?

Or is it a bit more subtle than that? Is she looking for a nervous twitch or beads of sweat dripping from my forehead...?

Did I actually get a few brownie points just by being home and alone?

Lol! As long as you were yourself and answered the questions then there's nothing else you can do now but wait and see
