Anything annoy you about the place?

If I had my way I'd let swear words be used without censorship in more light-hearted fora. I'd also like to see a greater diversity in opinions tbh, a lot of people in here seem to agree with each other a bit too often (:pac:). Oh, and I'd ban the term "PC brigade", stupid term. An instant messaging service would be good craic as well, I'm sure it'd get a bit creepy though

What would you like to see changed/brought in? :)

I'd ban under 21s from starting threads.

I'd get rid of all the users that I don't like or disagree with me, I'd be the only person left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,797 ✭✭✭Sir Osis of Liver.

To be able to check the last thanks you receive.

    I hate those phantom thanks.

Oh and to get paid 10 cents per post.

You'd leave it where? If you are leaving it one place, where is everything going to go?

Put a quota on the number of daily posts per poster and watch the number of posts on Personal Issues shoot up.

I'd like to have the ability to kill people simply by clicking a button beside their username.

I'd change the name to Brados and make it grow a big tache. And wear a hat.

We had a place for that called the thunderdome but we're not allowed talk about that anymore. Like the alcoholic /drug addict uncle it's not to be mentioned.

I'd dig a great big gutter along the side of the cycling forum.

Id make people have their own pic next to their username instead of an avatar......just cos Im nosy......

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,516 ✭✭✭wazky

I'd install stricter regulations on what can and cannot be posted, I find myself often highly offended at posts in threads.

It would also cut down on a lot of wasted PM's.

I'd get rid of the thanks function.

Makes it populist and encourages thanks whores.

Sometimes you read a post and you just know that, inside, that poster is screaming, "thank me!"

But the PC Brigade just nicely sums up the essence of bland progressive group think. Perhaps the phrase that might replace it, Social Justice Warriors, would do instead?

What annoys me is half the time quoted posts don't appear in your CP, then six months later you're reading a thread and see where somebody quoted you.

Mingy. Would it kill you to thank them so? It's free, convenient and moreish.

I'd ban "RIP" threads for celebritys and the like, it's a mass orgy for the bad news brigade to one up eachother for who is most saddened, the recent Robin William's was cringeworthy for some posters.

For certain forums Moderators shouldn't be chosen from regular posters within the forum, too many carry over issues with posters.

Ironically enough, the fact that "PC brigade strikes again" could be a reply to what you just said, is the perfect explanation as to why it's utterly meaningless. It isn't even an insult anymore, it's just a retort when you've nothing better to say.

Personally, I'd give every user a billion euros. You may as well aim high, OP.

Some people deserve thanks, but because it's abused, the system as a whole has a destructive effect.

I thank people who put forward interesting or original ideas, even if I disagree with them.

If everyone did that, there would be no problem.

But a lot of people seem to post popular trash, solely in the hope of being thanked.

Auto delete threads started by someone asking any question that can be quickly answered by a doing a search on the internet.
Especially threads starting with questions like..
". . how much will my car insurance be?"

In the time it takes to type out a post with a question like that you could have obtained at least one or two on-line quotes.

Kept behind closed doors like an unfortunate adopted child from the laundries.

The shame, gladly it now has new parents and a lovely new home.
