Netflix - Android Problems

All my Android devices seem to be having a problem signing into Netflix.
    Windows is fine.

Error message says to check network connectivity & date & time settings (-3).

I wonder if this has anything to do with recent app updates?
    Anyone else having problems?

Are you able to get online normally in Chrome / Browser?

Check your date / time setting and make sure they are correct, including the year. HTTPS connections don't work if the date / time is wrong.

Yep, they're all fine. That's two tablets & a phone having the problem.
    Worked OK last night.

I am having the same problem, just when I use Smart DNS......and just Android??? [Netflix version 3.7.2 build 1755]

if I am signed in, it just shows constant loading, then fails to play, showing this:

    Netflix_Error_Screenshot.png

If not signed in, I get what you get....unable to sign in at all.

But, when I reverted to normal DNS settings on the device, I get Irish Netflix fine.

I think they have done something to stop ppl getting around the geo-blocking.

I will check it out with my Smart DNS provider, SmartyDNS.

It is OK too on my Laptop, with Smart DNS and my Smart LG TV.

Yeah, but that's different from Smart DNS.

My BB connection out in the sticks, would not really work satisfactorily with VPN, due to overheads.

I will try with Tunnel bear or Hola, but I pay for the Smart DNS service.

I have reported what I have experienced to my provider, Smarty DNS.

I'll let ye know on this thread what transpires.

So, I tried with Tunnel Bear on a US sever, without charging anything in my WiFi settings, and Netflix streams perfectly.

Netflix definitely have changed something, relating to geo location, to disable Smart DNS.

Hi, just further to this, I am showing what you get when you try to sign-in to Netflix, with the latest app.

I have confirmed that there is no problem on Android with the previous Netflix app, Ver 3.7.1 build 1711, on my moto g kitkat.

Here is a link to a site with this version, which can be downloaded from the dropbox link:

    http://www.androidapknews.com/netflix-3-7-1-build-1711-apk/

I will revert the latest version back to this on my Nexus 7, and report back.

Thanks, I hope this is OK, if not, ppl can PM me.

I can now confirm that the Netflix app from my previous post works with Smart DNS.

I uninstalled the updated Netflix app, ensure to clear app data first.......

Then side loaded the older version, linked above, you must enable "unknown sources" in Settings/Security.... this is for KitKat Nexus 7.

All works as previously, and I have US Netflix back.

Result!!!! (Until Smarty DNS fix the problem.)
