    Hi Guys

Have this washing machine a few years, not sure how long. It stopped spinning the other day. Not it sounds like the mother is still flying away but the barrel is not spinning. I have replaced belts before on dryers but not sure if you can do on washing machine?

Would it be the belt is gone or how do these things work? Thanks

it may just have thrown off the belt, get someone to remove the back panel if you see rusty stains the drum bearings are gone and its time for to treat yourself to a new washer, otherwise it may be down to a badly unbalanced load that threw the belt. (BTW mind the mother from that machine)

Hey thanks for the help, took the back off last night and the belt was just sitting in the washing machine.

Just wondering should I get a new belt? I got it back on by just hooking it around the wheel, then moving the wheel around with my hand, it popped on then

I did fire it up and the belt seemed to move a little towards the edge but it stayed on the wheel, do you think it needs a new belt?

    Thanks again

check the grooves in the belt if they are not damaged it does not need replacing, check the big pulley on the drum for tightness and if its made of plastic check it for hairline cracks as a crack would cause the belt to move
