    Hi all,

Recieved my Redmi M1s today and very happy with it upon first impressions. However the WIFI will not come on when I ask it to. I go into Settings and attempt to turn it on, the phone seems to try to turn it on, but nothing happens.
It seems a strange one, has anyone any tips?

Not familiar with miui but you probably need to manually select your router. Most sellers will test the phone before so its setup to connect to their wifi.

Under advanced WiFi settings check the option 'avoid poor connections', see if it is enabled. Worth a shot.

What miui version is installed on the phone?

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the assistance. The MIUI version is "MIUI-JHCCNBD93.0".

I tried the "avoid poor connections" option but that was ok. You can ask it to turn WIFI on but the "button" on screen does not slide across and the icon goes "frosty" so it seems to try to come on but doesn't quite get there.

Turn the phone on its side so the screen auto rotates and try sliding the button there

That doesn't seem to work either. It slides over but then, after a while, it kinda gives up and just goes back to the off position.

When I try it on the shortcut Wifi button on the panel that you can slide down from the top of the screen it doesn't work either.

Not sure if this is a common problem or not...

There should be a WPS button on your router aswell as an option to turn on WPS on your phone. you need to hit this one both devices and it'll pick up the router

I'll give that a try once I'm home. The thing is though, I doubt the WIFI is even being given a chance to try this out because it just isn't coming on. If it came on I could at least see what networks are/are-not available. I can't even get that far though.

A Google search seems to suggest that this does happen with some MIUI's but I haven't seen a solution yet.

This maybe of some help http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=38319&highlight=redmi%2B1s%2Bno%2Bwifi&mobile=2

That's a good find, thanks very much. I'll see if I can sort it that way and report back :)

Updated to the newest version of MIUI and that sorted the Wifi issue thankfully. When flashing I selected "Wipe all user data" after wiping the cache. On the MIUI Market I downloaded the Google Installer app and got the Google Framework onto the phone so I've all my old apps and whatnot. Very happy with it now, just waiting on a fully functioning version of Cyanogenmod!
