Trailer lights

Im adding side marker lights to my trailer using the diagram below. The existing lights have never worked properly, as in the indicator lights both flashed together when ever I had lights on (like hazard lights)
So I pulled the old loom out and started again. When I thought it was wired up correctly nothing works apart from the side marker lights.
The picture below is of the right side brake, tail and indicator light.
Can anyone see where Ive gone wrong ? It could save maybe all day tomorrow chopping and changing wires until they work .
    Thanks for any advice .

Why is the yellow wire in the same light as the green wire ?
One is L/H Indicator, the other is R/H.
Hard to see with your thumb in the way but is it connected to anything in this light ?

Or are you just using 7-core cable to go across from L/H light to R/H light ?

Possibly a bad Earth causing both indicators to light together.

The wiring diagram you linked to is exactly what should be there.
If you're a bit unsure just wire one bulb at a time, (White Earth wire 1st) check it, and see how you get on.

Thanks very much for the reply mg . You're spot on its a seven core cable im using.
I was just trying to hide the yellow cable because I mixed it up with the blue on the diagram deliberately , it was just easier that way. Its in there to keep it dry because I wont have number plate light or fog light , just yet anyway.
So the diagram I have shown is only been used for tail , brake and indicator lights with spare wires left over for a number plate and fog light.
If this makes a difference , I will post my revised diagram, if you need to see that, but its basically the same only with the extra wires capped off .

Obvious I know, but is the car wired correctly ?
Easy enough to check the socket with a test light if you follow the wiring diagram for one.
Or just plug in a different trailer , if available.

Also the sockets themselves normally get fairly dirty, etc and a dose of WD40 combined with a few push/pulls of the trailer plug should sort that out.

Just spotted you have Rubbolite Lights....probably the best trailer light units out there, so there shouldn't be any issues with them.

You mention a number plate light. That would only be either the Brown or Black wire extended from the tail light to a number plate light. In other words there would'nt be a spare wire left over if you were not using a seperate number plate light.

I apologize , I didn't explain the wiring to the rear lights clearly enough, the seven core wiring goes to a T junction first but then afterwards all seven wires goes to both tail lights, meaning there would be If I am correct, be 3 empty wires in each light.
I didn't know which wire was the earth, but i'll carry on as you said , white as the earth and get one bulb to work at a time, we shall see how it goes.
I know for sure i'll get there its only a matter of time , the sooner the better though, thanks again for your help.

This little job has me beat.
At this stage I have tried every combination possible with the wires and the best I got was the left indicator working and(or) the hazards .
Im going to ring an auto electrician tomorrow and hope he can work on it Saturday
Hopefully he shows me what I missed
