Painting the fence

I have a weeks leave at the end of September and was considering painting the fence. Would I be better off waiting until next Spring to do this or does it really matter. Its around 5 years since it last got a coating. Also I would like to keep it the same colour i.e cedar and I was also wondering can anyone recommend the…
