how long to leave on masking tape?

    how long should i leave it on after a coat of emulsion?


    i was thinking 5-6 hours?

    No more than 24 hours in any case, but that sounds reasonable.

    Get it off asap... as soon as the paint is dry to touch.

    Good tip is pull it back onto itself as you pull it off if that makes sense - it stops it from bringing flakes of paint off with it.

    Another tip - get Frogtape - it really works.

    i took it off carefully straight away pulling it away from wet side.. i found if you leave it on and paint dries a little to start peeling where overlap is.. otherwise you need to run a blade down the join to break paint/tape seal

    Have to agree with previous poster. I remove it after i've finished painting.
