    Hey all,
Flying over to France on Friday, and driving, and wondering if the voltage in the cigarette lighter is the same as here? Hoping to plug a four way cigarette lighter jack into it, powering my SatNav alongst with between one and three phones.

Yep, cars are standard 12v globally.

Be careful though. If it's a French car you're in, plugging anything into the 12v power supply may cause the gearbox to reverse, the windscreen washer bottle to explode, and the front passenger to eject.

    Be warned.

Good bit of juice being pulled there when fully loaded. Careful you don't leave it plugged in.

The SatNav needs to be left plugged in (it dies after 10 minutes otherwise), but thought I'd check about the 4 way in case I need to charge phones on the way back.

Sorry, to clarify, I mean when you are stopped and ignition off.

You might need a flux capacitor since everyone there drives on the right hand side all the electricity goes backwards.
