A friend of a friend owns a takeaway, only the owner, his wife and one or two staffs working there. My questions are as follow:

Can I do the book for him if I am a kind of knowing what I have to do? I have no experience of doing accounting book.

Can an experience bookkeeper do the book for him?

Can he do the book himself ?

Or he has to pay an accountant?

Any feed back would be appreciated.

Keeping books is easy, preparing official returns is the hard part.

    So:

    Maybe

    Yes

    Maybe

Thanks for the reply. What I really want to know is - is there any law say who allow to do the book. From your reply, it looks like anybody can do it if the person knows what to do. No need to pay a fortune for a professional.

Yes technically anyone can do it.

But professionals don't always cost a fortune. If you are willing to do all your own books and do them well, it wouldn't cost much to get someone to come in at the last stages and get them ready for revenue or CRO. That way at least you know things are done right.

Thank you for your reply. I passed 4 Acca professional exam, but no working experience. I think I will have a go.
