    Hi

Does anyone know is it okay to do a course at night time while on JSA. It would be two or three evenings a week from about 630 to 900. It would be fetac level 5 childcare. I would pay for it myself. I would still be looking for work of course.

    Thank you

    Yes

Once you still meet all the JSA conditions (below) there is no issue.

Be unemployed (you must be fully unemployed or unemployed for at least 4 days out of 7)
    Be capable of work
Be available for and genuinely seeking work
    Satisfy the means test
    Meet the Habitual Residence Condition

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Should be no prob with that at all as its a night time course, should even stand to you as regards welfare, I'd even let them know, if its type of course that would improve your chances of getting a job.

That will be just fine. Actually bring SW your enrollment form and they maybe able to help you with costs.

AFAIK (and I am open to correction here) you still need to get and fill out a BTEA form, ticking the part-time education option, in order to continue to receive JSA whilst studying. I had to anyway

This isnt necessary if the course is at night. If a nighttime course all that is needed is a letter from the college stating the course is part-time and night-time.
