Just booked in to play Co Meath Golf Club in an open singles on Sunday next. Havent played it in 10 years and to be honest cant remember much about it. I'm hoping it will be more familair when I get there.

Any observations, opinions, tips regarding the course?

I played it for the first time about 5 weeks ago and thought it was quite an easy and forgiving course ie I wasn't playing well but still played to handicap. It's quite short (played it from the white tees) and fairways I thought were quite generous given the length with the rough well cut down also. The par 3s are all probably longer than average and it starts with the longest one at nearly 195 yards.
Nice course however with some gentle dog leg par 4s so be careful not to take too much club off the tee and run through the fairway/rough into the trees. A long iron is plenty on a lot of holes. Thought the back nine was markedly better than the front in terms of variety and with better premium for accuracy of the tee.
Greens were great the day I played and looked like they were suffering from disease in patches but they were treated for such in the preceding days so should have improved since.
Great practice facilities so get there early to warm up.
