Saorview/Freesat options for leaving UPC

Am looking for some guidance on the best tv options for me. I live in an apartment block which doesn't permit satellite dishes so have UPC. We have the horizon box and it's an absolute disaster but that's another story! We plan to keep our broadband but drop the TV part.

Basically we have realised that we dont really watch much TV, mostly netflix or series recorded stuff. We are considering Saorview or Freesat but dont really know what the difference is.

I'd prefer to have a few more channels than the basic Irish ones namely eurosport, film four, BBC and Channel 4/E4 and the ability to series record and pause live TV is essential. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Saorview is the is Irish terrestrial channels and available via an aerial.

Freesat is the branded BBC/ITV satellite boxes that are free to air so you need a satellite dish to receive them .

    Eurosport isn't available on Freesat
