I had the pleasure of visiting this museum yesterday. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much there is to see and what a large amount of work has been put into the building and the exhibits. They really manage to recreate the whole sense of the 1930's and what it must have been like flying back then. The charts, radios and the replica sea plane on display really show how brave a lot of these airmen were (to my mind anyway). Flying has become so standardized now with the level of automation and computerization on most modern aircraft. You forget that all of this had to be done by hand at one time and that even communications were problematic.

Really a great day out and I'd highly recommend the trip for anyone who has even a passing interest in aviation!
