    Hi all,

I'm shortly going to be in the market for both a replacement for my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and a 7" tablet and whilst the Note 3 is the obvious replacement for the Note 2 I'm likely to go with a One Plus One when I get an invite - see http://oneplus.net as I don't use the Note's stylus function at all but before I make a commitment I'd like to know what if any top end phones are due out shortly that might be worth waiting for? Is there a Note 4 or an S6 due out in the next few weeks? I understand Apple are launching the iPhone 6 around Sept 10th so I'm guessing that will cause the Android competitors to try and trump them shortly afterwards as the marketing hype builds towards Xmas.

In relation to 7" tablets I find it hard to look past the current Nexus 7 unless of course there is a 64GB faster processor version just over the horizon.

    Appreciate your thoughts.

    Ben

There are rumours galore on the net about the new nexus devices, although they do seem to be gathering momentum.supposed to be made by HTC,8.9 screen,2 GB ram.I am waiting and hoping for the rumoured release in October to coincide with the android L update.below is one of many links with "info"

I actually prefer the 7" format. It's much more portable then even an 8" device. a 7" device fits easily into an inside jacket pocket etc whereas anything much bigger than that needs to be carried separately.

Fingers crossed they release a 72 of the new version also.

Samsung are announcing the Note 4 in early September. Rumour has it that the S6 may be announced earlier than the S5 was.

There's likely to be a Nexus 6/X out by the end of the year also, perhaps made by Motorola.

    The Huawei mediapad x1 might interest you...it's a 7" smartphone :)

I heard that the Nexus line is being killed off in favour of the new Project Ara?

There should have been more info out about a new Nexus device (I had the Nexus 5 and am ultimately unimpressed with the amount of stress the screen could take before breaking).
