Hi was wondering what router I should use to replace the efibre router eircom supplied.

I am getting 75mb down and 18mb up when connected with Ethernet
However I am only getting 35mb down and 18up when connected wireless.

This speed is when standing next to router ie. with 100% signal

was hoping to find wireless that will get me closer to the 75.

I used multiple devices to check speed so the issue is definitely the router

Replacing it will be more difficult than hust adding a fast accesspoint beside it. Get any wireless n300 AP with external antennas and you should get 40-50 if there isn't much interference.

what do you mean it will be difficult?
can I not just buy a router and plug it in and input the settings?

You can, but there aren't a huge amount of vectoring compliant vdsl modems out there. The two you'd probably look at are the billion and the draytek. Billion is ~€130 and the draytek is over 200.

If your getting 75 on the lan
The issue could be the wifi card in your laptop
i recently changed the wifi card in my dell for the exact same reason
I was getting 50 on the lan and 20 on the wireless
Went on ebay and got a new wifi card 4965 AGN
now getting 45 on the wifi
