Motor Tax online

    Hi - apologies if this isn't the correct section to post this in.

    I purchased a car Privately on the 22nd August and the old owner told me he would post the car ownership change document off that day. It's now the 31st and I can't see any change of car ownership going through on the motor tax website. Should this be showing by now?

    I wouldn't worry just yet. The post isn't fantastic and it could have been Tuesday or Wednesday before it got there. Give it another little while. You could ring the previous owner and just double check when it was sent.

    You could phone them, maybe next Monday & just enquire about what days' post they are currently at? It's what I done & found out my would be in the following days' mail for them to process and sure enough, within days all done!

    All depends on location; backlog; number of staff working...
