Looking at fares for Paris, O/W. Ryanair "start" at 51, Aer Lingus 78, and Air France Cityjet a whopping 345 for all of their flights. Online systems show a lot of available seats.

So whats the secret, are they trying to attract passengers or only accept passengers who are continuing beyond Paris with AF?

select a return trip for the price to come down, some airlines do it not sure why. I think swiss are the most outrages - a standard fare tu Zurich is 668 eur, it's 126 eur per leg if you chose a return trip

You are so right, it drops down to about 82-87 per sector roundtrip, but even still its 190 for a o/w trip compared to FR 51+extras.
It makes my life easier as i will use ZED, but I don't see how AF/WX can compete not that route with fares like that.

well to be honest, I think people who's destination is Paris (not connections through Paris) would try to avoid CDG anyway if possible. So if you're crazy enough to go to Paris using CDG, why not make money out of you? They will have their share of business anyway with connections.. and it's not just AF they're feeding

Naw, not crazy, but lazy! I'm used to CDG and my international flight will also leave from there later in the week.

Just been quoted 300 + for an economy flight out of MAN to CDG in a few weeks with AF. Despite MAN being a decent sized airport serving a city and surroundings with a sizeable capture area the routes and competition are basic enough outside of the sun holiday market. I have work in MAN with a few days off straight after and fancied a short Paris break and saving a day by not heading home but it's far cheaper to connect from DUB as work will be paying the MAN-DUB flight... Had to check my I-Pad.. Eyesight and some when I saw those fares ex- Manchester.. Madness..

I was looking recently at flights between Dublin and London City for October. €35 one way. These new owners are really getting competitive!

im off to London on Friday with Cityjet for 51eur (including a checked in bag. There were options to fly with RA and AL for marginally cheaper, but when you included the cost of a bag, Cityjet was cheapest.....and not taking into account the cost of getting into London!! :)

Not sure they have a choice as end of October an extra 9 daily flights will be operating to LCY with two new carriers.
