hi all, i sowed a 12 days ago, its good on de headlands but not everywhere else
i disced, rolled with a light roller, sowed with a wagtail, then rolled it in with a heavy roller,
is it too early for watery slurry to help cover de seeds
or how watery would de slurry have to be. thanks

Slurry will kill the seedlings at that stage.

I would wait until it's well established after a grazing. My neighbour reseeded a field one time as soon as it greened up nicely he decided to spread slurry on it. It had the same effect as roundup and he was reseeding the field again a few weeks later :(

Grass sown 12 days wouldn't go near it. Headland will always appear quicker as its much firmer. If you think about it they would get at least twice the rolling as the middle.

Has grass appeared in centre of field?
Did you put down slug pellets?
Watch for Frit fly especially after a dry time

We would never go near reseeding with slurry until after the first grazing. But I have never come across anyone in our area using slug pellets for grass reseeding, would it be used a lot in your area?

I remember on placement the farmer I was with stitched in a silage field after second cut and he had parlour washings in the lagoon. And he put a good lot of that on after he had sowed the grass and put out the fert.
I don't know how it went because I had finished up 3 wks later and haven't been back to him yet. But I imagine the fert he put out was no good after the washings?

If ploughing prob ok but with disc or DD where sods are on ground I'd use. Put a slate down and check in morning and you'll know quickly if you have slugs

12 days is early. Frit nip the stem at ground level. Has any germination taken place in the middle? Frit attack the middle of the field usually not the headlands why I don't know

Does the grass up in the middle of the field look healthy? If there's no yellow leaves wouldn't be getting worried yet

I do generally harrow them in lightly when I sow them that way but Id be inclined to throw out a bag of n on them now to help them strike better

The lad we use to disc has a kind of ring roller on back to break up dod a bit more. It leaves little ridges. We sow the seed then roll it it in. Work fine.
I'd say go with a bag of pasture sward it will give it a lift. The N that was with the 10/10/20 is well gone niw
