Caring too much about what others think of you-great article

    Ok, I read it.

    1. I've a headache.
    2. Think I know why mammoths are extinct.
    3. It's over-complicating growing up. Be true to yourself at much as you can; it'll stand to you as you get older.

    Mammoths eh?

Have they cloned them yet? Or is all modern science just a cynical lie?

Reminds me of the dog called depression.

What a load of American hyper convoluted crap.

I could sum up a response in two lines.

We all care what other people think of us.
But they are too wrapped up in their own lives to care about us

    The End.

Yeah quite a lot of people (and I've been guilty of it in the past myself) can let the fear of what others might think of them influence what they do. Bit silly really once you think about it

Well of course we care about what others think. All social animals do. Ignoring the group dynamics too much may result in exclusion which usually means death of the individual. It's not just in animals either, it's not that long ago in our history where social exclusion could mean death. It's why excommunication was such a big deal.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

If nobody considered what others thought of them we'd have a world of literal psychopaths! Our whole civilization is based in part on taboo.

Aristotle springs to mind: "He who delights in total solitude is either a wild beast or a god."
    That's a shít mammoth.

I think it's a good rendering myself. Yet my appreciation of it is tempered by the realisation that the artist panders to deception of modern science. Mammoths were mythical, no? Like eskimos?

Psychopaths don't care what others think about them.
Actions are guided by a sense of right and wrong more than what people might think about them I'd imagine.

Ah there's a massive difference between not killing or stealing and not doing something harmless but potentially scandalous or offensive.

So what you're saying is we need to unleash the inner mammoth in ourselves?

Makes sense when you really think about it.

And the programming that still exists in our brains is no longer optimal as we don't generally live in tribes of 100 people anymore. But the programming can be changed. For example there is a reason most men are scared sh1tless to approach women, it could mean death or exclusion from the tribe if you approach the wrong woman in the tribe. This can be overcome though, when you force yourself to approach women despite the fear or anxiety you train your reptilian brain over time that it isn't the threat it thought it was. Your brain then reduces the anxiety and fear in your body when approaching, this allows you to let your naturally charismatic personality to shine, it allows you to display high status signals which makes you more attractive to women. I've witnessed this to be true in myself and others.

I had a piece of toast this morning...

    I having cocopops. :)

Although I am dimly aware of the derision that my peers would greet me with if they discovered this, it makes each bite more delicious.

That's the most accurately drawn mammoth I've ever seen. Fact.

Yes, but the mammoths are fictional. Only the cocopops are real.

These are difficult concepts to grasp. We need some form of chart.
